About Us
Here is a little bit about us. We are a Christian family of three. My husband Shannon and I have been married for 14 years. We have and 8 year old daughter named Coren.
I dreamed years ago that there had to be some way I
could help seriously ill children through quilting. We have owned
a commercial concrete construction business for the past 13 years
(S.W. Koehn Concrete Construction, Inc.), which has kept me busy and
unable to fulfill my dream. I have been able to donate quilts to
auctions to help parents raise money for terminally ill children in our
community. I would like to reach out to help children outside of
our community also. I have been told so many times from friends to
quit my day job and design quilts. I thought to myself, I wish
that I could do that. I have told my husband year after year that
I am not getting any younger and I would like to make a difference in a
child's life. With my husband's blessings and support through the
years, I've designed the "Barnyard Pull Toy Pattern."
My mission in life is to help raise awareness and
support Children's Hospitals, so that parents of an ill child may have a
place to stay near their child while they are in the hospital. I
feel there is nothing more comforting to a sick child
than to have their parent with them through this hard time in their
young life.
I am hoping that donations from selling patterns will be another way to help reach out to parents and their ill children. I am committed to working closely with the Children's Hospitals.
